Need Help ASAP!!!!!

i took my car to the shop two weeks ago to get the 3rd and 4th gears replaced. The shop wanted to put a new torque converter in just in case. They put the converter in and i got the car back. Two days later it started a horrible vibration. I took it back and they found some washers on the bolts that connect the torque converter. they took them off and gave it back.The car worked fine for a day or two and started messing up again. Then they said the converter might be bad so they put onther in. They also replaced the soleniod. Now the car is messing up again. Now they are saying that the person that installed the alarm shorted some wiring harness thats causing the torque converter to mess up. But i got the alarm installed two months ago. If that was the case wouldnt it have messed up the coverter that was in the car before i took it to the shop? i need help i have been with out my car for two weeks!! What is goin on with my car.

It sounds to me like they don't know what is wrong. It might be worth it to find another shop. I know it sounds like a lot more money, but it might be worth not having all of the headaches and repeatedly taking your car back. Just a thought.

I was talking to one of the board members here, and he went thru some major HELL with his A4 and the shop. It took like 5 trips and three weeks!!! He finally had to just put his foot down and they must have decided to actually FIX it that time.

Sorry, no help from me. Sounds like you need to seek a 2nd opinion from another shop!

Well i made a surprise visit to the shop this afternoon and talked to the guy in person. Turns out that they have a pump that gets the fluid out of the transmission. Well one of the workers thought u could put the transmission fluid back in with that pump. Well when he did he put air pockets in the transmission and screwed everything up. they were trying to get me to pay for some kind of wiring harness to off set the mistake they made. Good thing i went up there. So just for the record no one go to Elkins Transmission on Division street in Arlington, Texas. I guess they thought they could screw over a lil 18 yr. well not me

TTT=To The Top

It's a way of bumping the post up higher on the boards so people see it.

TTT.....

TTT= Take To Top. When your thread gets old it moves to page 2, page 3 etc, and to move it back to the first page where it gets more attention without saying anything new you can just use TTT. People that use these boards a lot don't like it for some reason, but I am not sure why that is?

Even though it isn't the BEST news...it's good to hear that you finally found the problem and I assume you'll be on the road soon, huh?

Fine...I didn't look at the 2nd name so I apologize for accusing you of the 2nd one. HOWEVER, you did TTT after 12 minutes.....12 minutes! I was in the middle of a header install, and my car was ripped apart in pieces and I still waited an hour to TTT the page.....If you car has been apart for 2 weeks then one hour won't kill it.
