need help asap
I'm having a strange problem that seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Sometimes, not always, my car turns off while turning right, it started doing it on tight corners, but now it will happen on light ones.
I had my battery tested with the car running, its only putting out a 12.9. Sometimes the voltmeter in the car drops quickly and the car wants to die, sometimes it runs right below 13, or sometimes it runs up near 14 where it should be (very rarely). The battery is very old, I don't think the previous owner had it replaced in the 5 years he owned the car.
Could the fluid in the battery be shifting and cutting power to the car? Or does this sound like a bad connection somewhere? Where should I check? BTW, the alternator is only 6 months old. Thanks for any input!

Re: need help asap
A weak battery won't cause your car to die once it's started. More than likely it's your ignition switch. Here's a good write-up from Shoebox:
