need help asap
Okay, just got my car back from the body shop last week and figured, hey, might as well put my headers in now. Car went up on jackstands thursday before work, and it's till there. The old manifolds are out, and thankfully i think that was the hardest part. Unfortunately, in my usual style, no matter how much i planned before hand, once i got going, my getterdun attitude prevailed. Since they are pacesetter race lt's, i'm removing the air pump and egr. I just took off the air pump, but in my rush to get everything done--which i need to do before i get lazy...--i didn't check out everything that was connected.
So, what do i do now with the wires that were connected to the pump? as well as the vacuum lines? In addition, can i just take a dremel and hack off the metal tube that goes from the driver's manifold to the passenger side, and then wiggle it out?? Thanks in advance for the the quick help guys. I'm stuck for right now with a big
on my face.

If you delete the AIR pump, just wrap the harness connector with tape and tuck it out of the way. What you need to do for vacuum lines will depend on whether you had the AIR pump recall done by the dealer. In general, if you have the connection from the AIR vacuum solenoid to the drivers side of the intake manifold, you pull the hose off the intake manifold and put a vacuum cap on the nipple. Same with the EGR vacuum solenoid vacuum line.

Easiest way to remove the metal AIR line that wraps under the timing cover is cut it with a Dremel.
You will find that you now have an SES light staring at you, for the missing components. Have you already had your PCM reprogrammed to eliminate the EGR and AIR diagnostics?
