Its a 93z and after cam install the idle is very rough and the o2s kick in and out. They are brand new. The comp has been tuned for the cam and all grounds and o2 wires have been checked for burns. All checked out ok. Opti is new. Could this be a bad ecm. That is like the only part that has never been replaced on this car.

 

does anyone have any ideas. I have tried everything except switching the ecm out. Car runs ok besides that surging at idle that evens out once the o2s kick on and surges when they stop working.

 

What does your exhaust system look like? Have the O2 sensors been relocated farther from the engine, possibly causing them to run too cold to work reliably? The single-wire, unheated sensors in the 93's can be a problem with long-tube headers. They can be converted to 3-wire heated sensors.

Might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car, including major engine mods.

 

it has longtubes but the o2s have been converted and just recently stopped working/

 

What does O2s converted mean?

 

Question would be, are you sure the O2 heater circuit power supply is still working?
