need expert advice before i throw in the towel!!

well i just had a new motor installed with the hot cam, ported heads, longtubes, and all the bolt ons. i picked it up and drove it for the first time in 7 LONG AGONIZING MONTHS. well it ran great when i picked it up, but in a matter of 8 to 9 hours the car is running like s****, missing like there is no tomorrow, won't idle, will start but will quickly die in a matter of 1-2 seconds. i was thinking that the car sat for 7 long months with only about a gallon or less of gas. i think whatts causing my problem is when it sat it developed crap in the gas tank and clogged my fuel filter. what kind of additive can i put in my tank to get rid of that crap. do u guys think this could be my problem? i really and hope not its not the opti, it has about 3000 miles on it, brand new plugs, wires, etc. what could my problem be?

thanks in advance
justin

7 months isn;t that bad.. filling up with good gas and maybe some injector cleaner and running it through should take care of that. I'm willing to bet it;s something to do with the install. do you get any codes out of it? what about burnt plug wires?

the funny thing is that it was running great when i first picked it up and through yesterday it got worse and worse. no burnt wires at all i checked every single inch. the only codes i am getting is p 0336 crank sensor performance and p0135 o2 sensor. i heard that the crank sensor has no effect on the performance of the car only senses crank vibrations and the o2 code i had before this new motor but will be replacing that today

Bad O2 sensors can cause many problems. Mine went bad and it was dumping serios amounts of extra fuel in. Would barely run and was fouling plugs. I would change out both o2 sensors if i were you, especially if you are getting a code.
