Need to Drain Coolant Before TB Bypass?

Yes, I've done a search on the throttle body bypass and have looked at Shoebox's instructions. My only question is if I have to drain the coolant before disconnecting the lines. Per Shoebox's instructions, my 96 doesn't require the coupling hose...just bypass the TB and straight into the steam pipe.

From what I can see the TB is the highest point of where the coolant flows, so I expect some leakage, but not much. Is this a correct assumption or will this stuff just start spewing out as soon as I disconnect a hose?

Would it help to open the radiator to vent? My concern is that the opti is "conveniently" right below where the hoses are to be disconnected.

Let me know from you guys that have done this.

Yep, pull your rad cap to make sure its not under pressure, and stuff some rags or paper towels under the hoses. You should have minimal spillage.
