Unhappy Need a codebreaker...

Hey guys..have a small problem here. My kind brother wanted to clean out my engine compartment...well he degreased it, and sprayed it down..ever since that I've been having problems with the car throwing codes... It's throwing a P0372 and a P1371...I'm guessing something to do with the PCM not receiving pulses from the opti-spark, and the 1371 I'm not familiar with. Driving today in the rain, it also threw an ABS inop light..I reset it, and received for my troubles the aforementioned 2 codes. My question is, can I replace the Opti-spark harness, getting the part from GM or do I need the entire Opti=spark unit? I apologize for the long story, and the help is very much appreciated. BTW, it mentioned this...

ST-Trim-1 0.0 LT-Trim 4.7
St-Trim-2 0.0 LT-Trim 4.7
18 MPH 1369 RPM
MAP 27.8 Hg MAF 54.9
TPS 31%

Forgot to mention- opti-spark has less than 1500 miles on it
- tachometer doesn't work

The harness is available as a separate part. The vented Opti uses PN 12130319

Talking

Fred, do you think that I could possibly take off the harness, spray some sorta electrical cleaner that's a water drier and reinstall or would it be better to purchase a new one? Thanks a million.

You're right on the P0372, no low res pulses detected. The P1371 means the PCM detected high res pulses but no low res pulses.

Update!

Well, have an update guys. Bought the part that Fred recommended -thank you sir, after buying it however, they had to use the old housing that's on the passenger side intake manifold harness leading up to the pcm due to the new part not fitting. That fixed, the car runs so much better. But she threw the P0372 again. I've cleared the codes, and now she'll drive fine for awhile, then idles low and cuts out. I'm thinking that the oprti-spark was compromised due to the cracked original fitting. Oh well, thanks again Fred and I'll keep you guys posted.

When did this happen? I've seen before where, when the opti gets wet, the car may run terrible for three days afterwards but then clear up. If this just happened, you may want to give it a few more days before spending a ton of money. May or may not work but worth a shot if you can spare a couple days with a sputtering car

Lightbulb Vent tube?

Hey guys..was thinking of something...a few pictures that I've seen of bad opti-sparks...there was a waterline in the housing, could it be that if the car had previously backfired...that it somehow messed up the checkvalve in the vent tube? And replacing it could somehow allow the vent tube to vacuum off any moisture? I'm assuming that due to the design, the intake creates a vacuum, siphoning off the water/moisture from the opti-spark. Am I incorrect in my thinking???

New update...the car is running perfectly fine now..thanks for all the help Fred, Brent, others... The question with the vent tube still stands..
