Re: need cam help!!

That is a pretty big cam for every day street driving, but of course, driveability is a very relative term and depends on your own "tolerance" levels. What are your goals for the car? Do you know what your heads flow?

that cam is way to big for a daily driver, buy anyones standards for a 350CI motor, are you sure that that cam is for a lt1.

Re: need cam help!!

That specifc cam is for a gen I SBC, not an LT1. It is a hydraulic flat tappet cam, not a roller. In any case, it is WAY too big for a street car with an automatic and a 350. It is a "single pattern" cam, the intake and exhaust durations are identical. LT1's don't like single pattern cams and need dual pattern cams, with a longer exhaust duration to compensate for the relatively weak exhaust flow of LT1 heads with a street exhaust system.

IOW, it is WAY off. How did you come up with this cam? Not a put down, but if you don't know much about this you will do far better sticking with on of the "regular" grinds that many have used sucessfully. Alternatively, if you don't have the time or interest to educate yourself about cams, you could buy a custom cam for ~$350-400. Take a look at the LT1 specific cams in Comps catalog to get an idea of the general specs that LT1's like.
