LS1 lid and Fast Toys Ram Air

Well i finally did it. The ultimate set up for my car.

It all started about 3 years ago when i put the LS1 lid on my car. I liked how everything worked/looked but the lid cracked so i decided to get rid of it completely.

Now 3 years later, ls1 lid is back, and this time i went all out and added the fast toys ram air as well (FTRA in LS1 world )

I must say its a damn tight fit under the hood but everything works awsome. Car does not run any hotter even though half of the ac condenor is covered by FTRA. LS1 guys love this set up and now i know why

here are some pics.

Re: LS1 lid and Fast Toys Ram Air

why not just run the T/A or firebird LT1 ram air set up? I wouldn't want to block the radiator.

I have a clean MTI lid with the SSRA .......Took a bit of work but once you get it aligned ....the 2 bolts pull everything down nice and snug......

Re: LS1 lid and Fast Toys Ram Air

I had to go to drastic measures to cover the holes for the factory radiator support and the Hole that holds the plastic piece that directs flow to the radiator.....Might go back and put that in...If I can.....But anyways.....I am gonna go back and use rubber to get a good airtight seal...

He cut the stock radiator support to sit around the airbox.

Re: LS1 lid and Fast Toys Ram Air

Any reason why you didnt go with the regular lt1 ram air setup... what did you have before the FTRA? Was there a noticable gain??

Re: LS1 lid and Fast Toys Ram Air

i had all the LT1 and LS1 sytems pertty much. FTRA/LID is the best combo.

I had to trim the ls1 airbox because LT1 UltraZ hood wont clear it. Then i trimed the LT1 radiator cover to make it all fit. I am going to make it look a little bit better when i have some more time. BTW i used ruberized weather striping foam from home depo
