Need cam advice!

OK so I am building another motor for my car and I have listened to MANY sound clips of LT1 cars with MANY different cams rangin from the 503 (which I currently am running) to the 847 and on up to the LE1,2,and 3 and also one AI setup. My problem is NONE of them are even closely lopey enough for my likings. Call me old school but I like the lopey, keep your foot on the gas to keep it running cams.

My question is is there any tips, hints, info, or advice you could give me to help me get a cam of that profile?

My new motor will be a forged 357 with P&Ped TFS 195 heads and a ported intake mani with 58mm TB. The CR on it will be ~11.1:1.

Thanks in advance.

Get a long duration cam with a narrow LSA and lope away. With a duration in the 240-250 range at 50 and an LSA of 110 it will lope plenty and may be kind of drivable with tuning, and enough gear and stall if it's an auto. Your CR is low though for a long duration cam.

Bret (SStrokerAce) MIGHT not do a cam just for the lope if it won't also perform satisfactorily. "My car lopes like hell, but runs like $h!t." isn't much of a recommendation for a cam guy.

Anyhoo, there's a good chance Bret can do a cam with the mean, nasty lope at idle you want which will also make torque and power. That's probably more of a challenge than making a driveable cam. He's usually up for a challenge.

How about doing a 4-7 swap on the cam but not on the computer?

Yeah I just realized I didn't add in the part where I explain I want a cam that will have a nasty lope but will also perform.

I will contact bret and see what he can do.
