I finally took the car to the dealer for analysis after countless times under the hood troubleshooting. They ran every test known to man and then some, and could not find a thing wrong with the car. Compression was excellent and all sensors were perfect. Injectors are getting perfect instructions from the PCM. Perfect car, they say, however they admit to the chugging or loping at idle and the richness. They said they could replace Opti, but I told them it was 1 month old.
Here is what he suggested. He said the problem seemed to be coming from cylinder #3, however, the compression and fuel injection was fine. He said it seemed like a misfire in that cylinder but was not completely sure. Also said maybe a burnt valve, but things weren't really pointing in that direction. He assumed the problem is internal. They litterally spent 6 hours on diagnosis. he even went as far as to swap out plugs and wires to that cylinder. Now I have 9 months left on a full engine warranty and I want to get this solved. Here is the million dollar question: Do I have them crack it open and risk possibly more problems or should I leave well enough alone?
I would appreciate another point of view.
Thanks
Gene

Yeah, have them crack it open, it doesn't cost you anything. I would want it fixed before the warranty expired. Then you have long enough to make sure that nothing else will go wrong before the warranty ends.
