See Frank.... I told ya you would be knockin on the 11's in no time. Actually all you need now is some better weather and its there. Now if I can just coinvince you to swap those gears for some 3.73's... Hell if your willing to I will bring my old rear down to you. All we would have to do is swap your carrier into it and take it to the track and see if I am right.

BTW, there are a few guys floating around here with basically stock cars knockin on 11's or into the 11's without major weight reduction.

But Frank.... I'm pulling the tags from the Z this week. You know what that means?

Hey you desirve it man Us tranny guy's that can only afford a stock bottom end need to stick together LOL.

Here is one with them on the nose. I never got the rears. I got married and bought a house instead

http://groups.msn.com/WashingtonFBod...to&PhotoID=244

I was going to shoot for tens on the stock short block but could not afford to blow the motor after buying the house.

SO I started buying parts for the new motor. I have most of the short block stuff I just need to get machine work done($2500 I Don't have). I sold all my LT4 stuff to get this

http://groups.msn.com/WashingtonFBod...to&PhotoID=497

You will get there. All of our tracks are closed now and the good weather just got here. You get a good pass or two in 50 Degree weather and you have a solid 11.8-9 on your hands Hooking on the other hand can be tricky!

BTW I found my car hooks better and pulls top end harder on the 26x10.5s then the 11.5s

Good luck and Congrats on the times!

Congrats, Frank. Very impressive from a fully optioned emissions legal car! You will have a solid 11 sec car if you give the weather about 2 weeks and go down on a sat t&t. Hell, I'll let you try out my 28's if you want to kill some gear in it. I think it will do better with a 3.7 effective gear ratio. I'm still working on my prob: I have spark but I think I need a new MAF sensor. The nitrous backfired and blew my air filter completely off and the sensor looks like it is charred. I'll let you know what I find out.

Take Care
Matt

Hey, I really need to thank brian (PROJECTZ28), Dirk (RACINLT1), and Matt (NOSTANG96Z).
Input from these guys is what got me where I'm at. They're a great group of guys to race with.

Matt should've told you all about his 2 hour opti swap...IN THE PITS...At the track Saturday!

Brian, I might take Dirk up on that 27" tire offer.....

Frank

Frank I have a timeslip from 2 weekends ago that looks identical except I went 12.04@112.8mph. The 60's and 1/8thmi. are dead on. I also ran a 12.001@113mph I was also looking for an 11 sec. slip N/A. This was in 85degree and about 80% with 3.42's and a 3600lb raceweight. I have a real nice cam from Joe Overton and near stock heads(Me and a friend cleand them up over 2yrs ago with stock valves and all) and some AS&M midlengths too. Later and nice times

Nice times Frank. Thanks for all your advice on my tranny. Turns out the input drum was cracked. Got it back together and went 12.28. Looking for 12.00 n/a, must be nice. Let us know when you go 11's.
Oh yeah, what is this lock up switch that you are talking about? I need to drop my 60fts a little bit.

Frank, if Dirk can lend ya his 27's for a run or 2 I would try it. I am 99.9% positive that the lower effictive ratio will put the power to the ground better and help push that thing well into the 11's. Look at it this way... your set up is verry similar to mine right now. With the addition of 4.10's in my car it KILLED the car. I lost a few tenths and some mph with such a small change. Your already where I was and with the 4.10 gear.

BTW, your welcome. I know I speak for Dirk and Matt when I say we were glad to help. I'm sure you will have the chance to return the favor in the future.

Hey Brian,
Why are we running so quick with these "tiny" CC 305's?...LOL

I'm glad I took your advice and traded in my "Hot Cam" for this one.

Well guys I hate to tell you but if you took out that CC305 and stuck a Hotcam in I doubt you would lose any Et or MPH. You may even gain some. Ken Anderson ran 11.80's@114mph with a Hotcam, stock heads and 3.42's. His car was 3500lbs and would 60' 1.6's too. My car ran 12.30's@110mph last year with a Hotcam, 2800 vigilante and 3.42's. My car weighed 3750lbs though. I don't think there is much difference between the two and I think the Hotcam is the best Bang for the buck out there. Later Clint
