N/A 12.05 @ 112 MPH tonight

95,000 mile stock bottom end, stock suspension, full weight, ported heads, and tiny CC305 cam...

Temp was 62 degrees, with 80% humidity

Run went like:

R/T .203
60' 1.685
330 4.937
1/8 7.686
MPH 89.17
1000 10.054
1/4 12.054
MPH 112.35

The nice part is, it went 12.09 in 70 degreee weather earlier in the day.

This was the first time out with the new exhaust cut-out. My previous best was a 12.25. The cut-out dropped it 2/10's.

My heads were done by Joe Prince at JPR racing in New Jersey. Joe has recently went to work doing heads here:

congrats on your new bests. Your times look pretty similar to mine. Do you have a manual lockup switch for your 700? I switched from the 4l60e to the 700r4 and lost a little over 2 mph. I think it's because the converter doesn't lock up in 3rd anymore. Oh sorry, I just saw that you have a non-lockup converter. What is your raceweight?

Nice run Frank! I know you get the 11s, keep it up.

BTW: are there a lot of NA LT1s in the 11s? I can only think of one or two.

Hey, the part I like is 12.0 with a 95,000 mile bottom end, and a stock suspension...Right down to the 95,000 mile gas shocks...LOL

When I originally switched from the 10.5" lock-up to the 9.5" non lock-up, I lost 1 MPH. But, I never used lock-up in the quarter mile anyway. The converter switch did get me 1/10 off my 60 ft. time, though...From a 1.77 to a 1.67.

My race weight is 3448# with me (190#) in it, and 3/4 tank of gas. My car is a non t-top with manual windows and locks. The only weight taken out of the car is the front sway bar, and the addition of the Draglites. I've got a 'glass cowl hood on it, but it weighs as much as the stock hood did.
It's still got a back seat, A/C, and power steering
Hell, the MAC headers still have all the emissions hooked up to them...LOL.

Thanks. There are quite a few LT1's in the 11's N/A, but not many stock bottom end cars. My buddy Brian (Projectz28) has went 11.91 with a CC305, and LT's in an otherwise stock LT1 in a '96 Z.
Most people are running longtubes when they get near the 11's, though. The only thing I've got to do to put mine back through Emissions is take my off road pipe off, and put my cat back on. A swap that takes about 1/2 hour, because I made both with identical flanges on them.
I'm not really sure how many 11 second cars there are out there with a complete factory suspension under the. Again, Projectz28 has all the factory stuff, also.

Since I went 12.0 in 62 degree weather with 80 % humidity, yea...I'm sure it'll dip into the high 11's when it gets a little cooler, or less humid. My car really hates high humidity.
