Now that I think about it, the pieces are smaller than a valve seal. they're a bit smaller than a drinking straw; would probably slide right inside a straw.

The plastic is hard plastic, not rubber like a vacuum hose.

Could they be part of the PCV or some other sensor which enters the intake (MAP?)

Maybe, if one broke off and then fell into the intake, and then when you pulled the intake, it fell into the valley.

Howabout one of the plastic spacers on the injectors which hold the rubber o-rings in place? Any chance one of those broke and fell in during the rebuild?

Good thought, but the pieces are smaller than the pieces on the injectors, and besides, they are all still in place.

Still racking my brain trying to figure out what these pieces are. I'm putting the heads back on tomorrow morning, and plan to get it all back together by Christmas. I suppose I'll just button it all back up and see how it runs.

Hopefuly it's something from a previous upgrade/repair and won't cause a problem.
