My thoughts on the ES mount
Correct me if I am wrong but I searched for a 1LE mount about 6 months ago and they are nolonger made. Dal and Jason both said that there is only one GM number listed for a mount now. There was a thread on Project TA that discussed this.
UPDATE... Well I was driving hard all day long yesterday and it has loosen up and feels alot better. I like it now.
Now I get a humming vibe from the rear. Im gonna change out the gear oil because I dont think its been changed ever (now at 100K). As I drive it hums goes away and hums and goes away. It hums every 2secs. Any ideas. I dont think the driveshaft is out of balance. It could be the engine or the rearend. I really cant tell but Im gonna start with the rear end first to see. So if anyone reads this post and wants to try the ES mount Ill give it a thumbs up now. Just let it break in. ES should post that in their instructions.
I now have a 1lE Tranny mount for sale now. $40 shipped brand new. That was my cost with shipping. Email me if interested. I should recieve it tomorrow.

i have never had an issue with the ES mounts in 3rd or 4th gens.
even with the stock POS Vibeshaft in my 97,i got NO extra noise/vibration out of the ES mount.
Glad to see you decided to keep it,you will be much happier in the long run.

The 1LE trans. mount is the superceded. IF you order a trans. mount now, you will get a 1LE mount. There is no longer a separate part # for a 1LE mount. I checked a few dealers and this is what I'm told. Not sure when this started. I have a ES mount in my 94 1LE and it's fine. Didn;t really notice much difference from my 1LE mount.

Update...ES mount out and 1LE in and staying in. The ES mount did loosen a lot and it performed well till the 70mph range I got a harmonic hum coming from the tranny area up through the gear shifter. Get in the 80 range it smooths out and get to the 90 range its a harmonic hum and vibration too.
With the 1LE its smooth sailing all the way through. This is really making me want to go over the entire suspension and do it all over. But then again I want a SS model and might sell.
The only thing I can think of is I put it on backwards. I threw away the instructions but did the hump part go to the back or front?

I pulled the preload bar off my ES mount and 99% of the driveline vibes went away. I like its engineering myself, the fact that it will not let the transmission bang the floor if the poly breaks. I dont trust rubber not even the thicker 1le mount.

My thought on this.. if you just put in the tranny mount you are lifting your engine from the rear because your worn rubber motor mounts sit low.. if you put in both the engine and tranny mount, the engine sits higher and brings things back into alignment...
The reason removing the preload bar helps is because it lowers the mount just a little..
I had my engine out and put in both so it was easy for me.. purrs like a kitten with zero vibration.. but the motor mounts do sit higher than the rubber mounts simply because they don't compress as much, I believe they were designed to work in conjunction with one another..

ES sucks
i bougth the ES after snapping 3 1LE's, well not that I should be doing this , but when i hit about 120 mph, it feels like the driveshaft is ready to break off, the vibration is horrible. My two cents
That's strange......I put mine in cuz I ripped my stocker in half, no vibrations at all. Not at idle when cold or hot, not moving, not when cruising on the highway. None whatsoever......I like it.
