Is my starter going out?

When I get in my car after its been sitting awhile and try to start it, I just get a click. But if I wait with the ignition on for a few seconds and try again, it starts right up? The battery is only a month old btw.

First check should be that the battery cables are clean and tight.

Yea, check that red junction box and the ground stud on the passengerside fenderwell. They can get pretty nasty. I actually replaced the whole junction box. It was all corroded. As far as the stud goes, just take it out and clean it.

Theres no corrosion on the battery terminals or anything, and its not the starter. It just takes a couple seconds for the volts to come up high enough for the starter to crank over after I turn on the ignition. Does anyone know whats causing this?
