Arrow Is my engine cradle alignment messed up? (A4)

Hmm... for the last couple of hours I've been fighting this one bolt on the transmission bellhousing and after:

Removing 4 cradle bolts and loosening the front 2, letting the transmission completely hang by itself without a jack underneath, I could barely fit a socket on the damn bolt! (this is the driver side bolt right near the oxygen sensor. Not the very bottom one but the one right before it)

Even though I did fit a socket on it I could not fit an extension, a swivel or a ratchet on it. WTF?!!

Finally, I took it out with a regular wrench. This bolt has taken WAY too long. Probably more than it will take me to change the stall and put everything back together.

The car ran fine before this and drove straight. So what the heck is the problem here?

Thanks.

i had problems with this bolt (middle one on the driver's side right?) i used a wrench to back it out all the way to the firewall !!
i ended up using a hammer and "massaging" the firewall a little to get the bolt out. my car was hit in the pass side front before i bought it maybe it got knocked off a little???
hope this helps.
