my car wont go to closed loop

i am getting black smoke out the back and no codes with datamaster, and i cant give the car any gas or it will die. i have to hold the pedal down to get it to start also. O2 MV are 900 and change, INJ DC is 3.0 at idle, BPW MS is 4.78 at idle. i dont know what is going on. if someone would take a look at my log i would really appericate it. thanks

Re: my car wont go to closed loop

Couple different reasons why the computer wont go into closed loop. One of which is that one of your o2's are bad. Check tp make sure there bothing moving. they should not be staying at one place. If so then there is your problem.

another thing to check is the temp on the sensor in the water pump. If it's too low, you won't go into closed loop either. I think it needs to see 180*, but I'm not too sure on that number.

Unhappy Re: my car wont go to closed loop

my o2 are in the 950's and 940's they are moving around back and fourth. how do i check the coolant temp sensor? how could that make me run so rich? i have to hold the pedal down to start it and then if i give it any gas it will die. i can email you the datamaster file if you want to look at it. PLEASE.

Make sure there are no bent pins on the MAF connector. Make sure the MAF is fine...swap in a different one to test.

Re: my car wont go to closed loop

i think i fixed it. i swaped the coolant temp sensor with an old one off my truck that was good still and i logged it and she went into closed loop. seems to be running right now. thanks a million. i owe you one. by the way i cant believe that it does so much to the car!!

Re: my car wont go to closed loop

Well when it happened to me, I burned my clutch up trying to keep it moving. Now I keep an extra sensor in my glove box.
