My car Runs fine and dies Randomly

ok i know this is my first post and i have been here several times knowing that there is a vast amount of knowledge floating about here i come here to present my question.
Yesterday i bought a 97 T/A LT1 M6 match. First GM Owned. Well i went down to town about 180 miles away and trailored it back to a town about 30 miles away from my house. We unloaded the car to drive it the rest of the way and it starts up nice sounds good no misses nothing. i start driving it. i drove it about 20 minutes it shoots out a check engine. i didnt think much about it the car was driving like a dime.
10 minutes later, i feel a slight jerk in the car like it missed. i take off the cruise control and let it coast. i then feel a second jerk alot harder now. then the cars slowly dies about the time of 5 secs. Well i was thinking the water pump was leaking and that the Opti got water in it. So i call my friend we let it sit for about 5 minutes it starts a few times but bearly long enough to get into first and engage the clutch then dies. so we go get the trailer and come back, about an hours trip, try to start it nothing. just turning over.

Now, today my friend went out and started it up and got it home but said that along the way home the guages were messing up occasionally. he thinks its a short somewhere. What do you guys think it is?

The SES light appeared at the same time the problem showed up. Scan it and see what code(s) are set. Why guess?

the scan results were 2 bad O2 sensor messages and a Low IC (impulse Controller) output of somesort. i really didnt get to catch all of it i had my friend bring his shops Scanner over and do it.

Get the numbers. There's a P0506 for "Idle Control (IC) low engine speed", then there is P1361 for the "Ignition Control (IC) circuit low". Then there is the Opti which produces a low resolution pulse pattern, and if you have that code P1371, your engine will not run, because it doesn't know the crank position. The scanner is giving you the answer..... you just need to get the specific code.

PM me with what you end up finding out. My car was doing this EXACT thing and it is mind boggling and I don't know anyone near me with a scanner.
