My car is nearing completion for track time again, so much changed this year...

Just a little over a year ago I was running cam only, bolt-ons, converter, doing quite well with that setup.

This past year has been a rollercoaster, but my car has completely changed. It's going to be interesting finally getting this thing back out on the track.

Changes/additions:

Fresh 355 shortblock with forged pistons/rods sitting on a lightened GM crank, bottomed off with a Milodon pan.

LE2 Heads, LE3 cam, with supporting valvetrain additions.

Ditched the stock rear for a killer deal on a Moser 9" w/ 4.11's

Ditched the ypipe/catback setup, pending an X-pipe w/ bullets/dumps

Sent my 4L60E off to Frank @ CPT for a pro-race build, it's currently "in progress" with him and he's kept me nicely up to date.

Replaced my Vigilante 3200 in favor of a new Yank ProThruster 4000 converter

Added 15x10 prostars with 275/50/15 M/T ET Street DR's mounted on them, I've had my 15x3.5 prostars up front for a while now.. I match all the way around now

PHEW what a year it's been lol. I can't wait to see what this thing will finally do at the track. I hope to be seeing track time by early March. I'll probably throw the car on the dyno once I get the transmission back just to make sure everything is OK with the new 6800 RPM shift point.

After I get those track results the car still needs a 58mm TB, and could really truly use a dyno-tune.

I'm looking forward to seeing what it runs, hopefully you get it to the track before the summer heat comes back.

LOL...You're doing almost as much as I am.

New 6"rod, 847 cammed 11.7:1 355 with LE3 heads, full Spohn/AJE/QA1 suspension, new interior with 8pt. cage, a 200 shot of progressive nitrous, and a little weight reduction.

Oh wait!...I've already got one of those CPT transmissions, though.

You're trans will be done late this week.

Good luck with everything...I know you've been on quite a roller coaster ride this/last year...That thing should be a blast...I think 4.11s are where its at and will really wake everything up and work great with that converter...Good luck, again...

Can't wait to hear what that puppy runs. And if you don't mind me asking, how much does a Yank like yours go for? I'm looking for something with a higher stall than my 2800 Vig. and I know many people rave about their Yanks. Not that there is anything wrong with the brand that I'm running.

My Yank was $795 + shipping direct from Yank. They're holding a special for LS1tech members now that includes a free deep aluminum pan for the trans.

The PT4000 is pretty much their "street" version of a race converter. It's a step up from their SS line, and it's supposed to be extremely efficient, with a long shift extension for N/A cars like mine.

Thanks, but now I have to ask, what is a long shift extension for N/A. I really don't have a clue what that is.

No problem.. shift extension is where the RPM drops to after a shift. I think the shift extension on this converter is somewhere around 5600 RPM. Keeps you in the powerband.
