I re adjusted the valves while the car was idling, I loaded the stock program as well and that just made it worse. It cant be the o2 sensors because it does it in open loop as well. ZSlates, do you think it was your wires or plugs?

I think what you should do is just guess and poke around replacing random stuff until you have spent another several hundred dollars on the car and still have the problem rather than just taking it to dsw or somewhere similar and getting it fixed...

Well I would like to get some opinions first! I really don't like taking my stuff to a shop, I just got laid off for a couple weeks and I am tight on money.

New spark plugs didnt do anything. I dont even get a PCM code for my rich and lean conditions I don't think the PCM will even allow both, a rich and a lean code.

Those arent backfires really. Most stock cars do that... My car will make a loud bang and an echo... Im worried im going to blow something apart in my exhaust.

When I press the gas a bit near 1500 rpm's it will backfire consistantly about ever 1 second. It sounds horrible, like a firecracker in the exhaust.

Well...im not really sure about your problem, but when my car is still warmin up and i try to shift around 3 K i get a pop from the exhaust but then once it is warm the pops go away. Also, when i rev up i get a lot of popping. I think i need new plugs and wires...

nope . My opti bearing originally broke from the cam dowel and my headers were glowing, but a new opti fixed that. Before the bearing broke I was still getting the split blm's but I dont recall it backfiring.

yea, i didnt really think it was bad or anything but those are only revs to like 2500-3000 if i hit like 4500 it pops like a fire cracker and sounds horrible but it doesnt seem to be as bad as the problems on this thread, so i dont feel like i have much to worry about....got 27 mpg on the highway today after drivin up to kent state in ohio to visit my bro...good luck to the guys having troubles tho
