My C5 CAI works!

I had this crazy idea about using a c5 airbridge for a intake for the lt1. Well after a little fabrication it appears to be a success. I can't run the car for a nother week but here are a couple pics. The third pic you can see the filter but the pic is crappy and the camera was wiggin out. I do need some suggestions on what to use to put between the cut radiator shroud and the intake to make it look a little better. please excuse the nasty engine bay

Let me know what you think!

Thumbs up

I was always wondering why they didnt just stick an air filter on the front of the thing, rather than making a 90 and extending it a ways.

Looks okay, but how are you going to squeeze a filter down there, and what about the condensor?

My only concern is it picking up the heat from the radiator.

I have the 1le a/c delete so no ac condensor. The K&N filter i used is pretty large and fit perfectly. There is about 1 inch between the filter and the radiator. I am gonna make a plastic shroud to seperate it a little.

Doesn't look too bad. Could be worse. I imagined it would make the intake look like it had a big ***** hanging down from it, but you successfully made that setup work w/o doing that. LOL. So good job. Very creative.

Doesn't look too bad. Putting a rubber gromet around the radiator shroud would make it look a TON better. Kind of a choppy cut.

The dremel got a little out of hand I want to get a smooth bellows for it as well as some kind of grommet for the jagged edge. I added a couple more pics.

Looks good, I like how you cut the shroud around it.

On another note, you need to hit that engine bay with some Simple Green or something.

That is the maf sensor that you see! I had to notch the frame to get it to fit nice and have a maft and used the wires for the extension. Casper Electronics sells maf harness extensions for $20 bucks if you don't have a maft.

The car has been sitting since October and the hose doesn't reach that far but it will be running soon so i can wash her up
