I figured it can't be much worse than a ls1 with ftra, so long as the car is moving it will be getting fresh air.

So probably what...a 350-400 hp gain at WOT? Sounds about right.

what filter did you use (part #) and how much did you pay for that C5 intake. it looks pretty good. i was actually thinking of doing this myself about a month ago, but didnt know what filter to use mine looks a little to big to fit in there.

let us know how much hp you gain or lose from this setup, as soon as you run it.

Why is the vette logo upsidedown? I can't picture what it looks like on a C5 so, I'm a little stumped.

If you could shave that logo off, then it would look a ton better as well. I like that setup a lot!

It would be awesome if he could get the Vette logo shaved off and have the Z28 logo etched in place. That would look sharp!

I'd be curious to see how it compares to a regular CAI on the dyno.

You probably wouldn't see much on the dyno due to the radiator heat, unless you had a serious cooling fan. But on the open road I guarantee its better... Comparable to a Ram Air hood on the new TAs...

Edit: One other thing you need to worry about is the location of the IAT sensor. That needs to be relocated closer to the TB to prevent it from picking up the radiator heat as well.

Only problem with this project is separating it from the radiator heat. Not a huge problem, but a problem none the less.

Looks good, also looks like you're missing a drivers side valve cover bolt.

Prolly cause he has OVC wires and has them removed for the pictures, you can see the wires dangling on the right.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

The iat sensor goes on the drivers side about 4 inches infront of the tb. There was a hole from the c5 one and the lt1 sensor fit with a grommet. You should be able to see it from the pics. There is even a convienent hole for the opti vent tube as well.

I will have to look up the pn for the filter but it is a 7" long, 4 5/8" diameter conical filter that fits right on the maf.

I don't really like that vette logo either, i might try to shave it off one day but would fear breaking through cause it is molded into the intake. I paid $30 bucks for the c5 intake and bellows btw.
