Stock flywheel or not? If not you may need to put spacers onto your starter. I had to do that when my McCleod Dual Friction went in.

Its a common occurence with the T56. Brand new Z28s off the showroom floor did it. Its not anything to worry about. Many people have tried to get rid of it to no avail. Try revving a little higher when taking off and keep the clutch from fully engaging for a little longer and you will learn to prevent it from doing it. Just takes a little practice.

Ahh.. ignore my previous post. I thought you ment when starting the car, not when starting from a stop. You should be more specific with your questions.

I have a question to throw in there. When I shut off my car I get a little metallic vibration in the tranny. I can prevent it by leaving the clutch pushed in while shutting it off. Any ideas? Just a nuisance.

I know this is years later but I just bought a 94 z28 6 speed that makes a slipping noise/ whining noise when taking off from a complete stop. It depends the way I depress the clutch. If I do it very slow it doesn’t do it but accelerate normally it makes this noise. The cars been fully restored and I can’t live with this noise. Please help me. Thanks I’m advance

As part of the "restoration", was the clutch replaced? How many miles on the clutch and the trans?
