Question My 383 LT1

Alright....I broke my A4, so I decided it's time to do an M6 swap. So, I figured, while I'm at it I might as well do the 383/LE3 stuff. I don't know what kit I'm using for the 383 yet, so if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated. So, for ease here....I'm going with a Strange 12 bolt with 4.10 gears. Not sure of the clutch...not worried about it yet. I'll list my questions to make this easy.

1) What is a good 383 kit? I've been looking at forged Eagle crank, rods...etc.

2) What clutch will be good for this? 383 LT1, bored .030 with LE3 heads and cam

3) With the six speed swap, can I wire the clutch switch from the park switch on the auto?

4) Any idea just how much power this beast will make?

5) With the LE3 heads, will there be any benifit to getting an LT4 intake ported to match them as apposed to my LT1? It's a 94' Z28...I know there is no real difference in them performance wise, just that the LT4 intake has more room to work with.

I'm thinking of aiming for a compression ratio between 10.5 and 11.5, since I have no desire to run any type of forced induction/NOS. I'm new to this, and this is the first V8 I've ever done. I've rebuilt plenty of 3.1 and 2.8 v6's, a 2.2 4 banger, and countless 5hp Briggs on my go-kart since I was 13 years old. Any help and advice would be appreciated, and, I'm not a total idiot, I was able to figure out the t-top conversion on my own, and have changed the rear twice.

Thanks in advance.

1-Call Probe Industries on the kit.
2-McCloud would be best and they have a scatter shield for ya too.
3-Wire your starter wire through the switch, like the factory or leave it out.
4-Built right it should put 425-450 to the tire
5-LT4 won't fit without a bunch of machine work

Depending on your cam but I would shoot for 12/1 with a dynamic compression of 8.5-9.0 to one.

I'm partial to the Callies crank, Oliver 5.85" rods, and JE pistons set up...LPE used this combo in 1995 and its still going strong after 10 years of racing. I like the slightly longer rod in the 383 over the 5.7". It lessens the rod angle in the bores...The set up is a little pricey, but it doesn't owe me anything after 10 years...

Nice, but overkill for most. There are deals to be had on less expensive parts that will give you years of trouble free service provided they are installed correctly and not detonated.

The LT4 intake has more room to work with to allow port matching of the LT4's raised intake on the LT4 heads. Like racerdude says it'll take some work anyhow to fit.

Have you ever thought of a solid roller 383? My brother has a 383 S.r. cam, Callies dragon slayer crank. 4 bolt splayed. Top of the line parts, still in the plastic from the machine shop, If you are interested. I can get you a detailed list of parts with receipts on parts and build. The price for everything new was 4600.00, I think he is selling it for 4200.00

Yep, the Callies, Oliver, JE set up is overkill, but they've performed flawlessly since 1995 when it was put together...Like I said, I know its pricey, just giving him some options...
