Question Lt-1 Difference

Is there any way VISUALY to tell a LT-1 out of a Caprice.

Did the Camaro or Trans Am come with a exstended filler neck??

Thanks

Iron heads on that one too I think? That would be pretty easy to tell.

Re: Lt-1 Difference

The shortblocks are the same you just need to make sure a b-body LT1 is an LT1 because the L99 which was the base engine in the caprice sedan only is a 4.3L V8 that looks exactly like an LT1 and uses many of the same parts, those will say 588 on the drivers side of the block and 4300 behind the drivers side head where an LT1 would say 327 and 5700 respectively. The iron head are the giveaway as far as a b-body motor. Also ALL b-bodies got the vented opti even in 94. Depending on what you want to do the iron heads are actually quite good don't mistake iron for bad as ALL the irons flow more than most of the aluminums and as well as the best aluminums. Not that you need to use irons on a vuildup just don't think them junk as most here would have you believe.
