i replaced the opti and checked icm and coil they test good and just curiousity when i put opti in and if i didnt get the shaft from in right spot would that keep it from not starting as pulled the flywheel off and how do i make sure its in right hole on the opti please help

 

Was it running OK before you replaced and tested the parts you listed? If not, what problems were you trying to fix? Did you scan the PCM for codes before replacing the Opti? How did you test the ICM and coil? Do you have spark at the coil wire and at the spark plugs? Have you scanned it for codes after you replaced the Opti? What brand Opti did you install? Did you check the Opti harness connector for corrosion and/or damaged pins?

When the starter cranks the engine, is there any evidence the engine is trying to start, like backfiring, popping through the intake manifold, etc.? If you messed up putting the dowel pin in the correct slot, the ignition timing would be off, so you might hear occasional plugs firing, but the further the dowel pin location is off, the less likely the engine would start.

Have you verified the fuel pressure?

Is this how you tried to install the cam dowel pin in the back of the Opti? Did you have to use the Opti mounting bolts to pull and seat the Opti hard against the engine?

Did you verify all the plug wires are in the correct position on the Opti?

thaks for your help with this im gonna make sure i put the opti in right first and ill let you know what i find out
