Mufflex Catback or Borla you tell me.

With true 3" duals running from my sc headers w/crossover running thru dynomax superturbo mufflers (no cats)my car made just over 400 rwhp and tq, and i don't want to lose a bit of that power. The problem is clearance. They are dumped just before the rear with turndowns so i have to run the stock springs which make it set up like a 4x4 just so i don't scrape. I was thinking of getting a mufflex y pipe with either a borla catback or mufflex, but i've seen alot of mixed reviews of which to have in search.
So which would be the better choice for power, the Mufflex 4" Crossflow or Single tip Catback or the Borla with the removable plates. Thanks for any opinions or facts about them.

I used to have a borla catback and a custum made y pipe that sucks. I now have the mufflex y pipe and mufflex 4" single tip. I don't have any numbers but with the mufflex it feels faster. don't expext much clearance with this setup, I have my car at stock ride hieght the way a love it. As for the quality there is no comparison.

I have the Borla cat-back w/no plate and it's too quiet for me. I got it used for $150 so I can't complain too much. When I move back to Ohio I'll go true duals.

I've run the Mufflex 4"/Flowmaster setup at the 800HP level. Removed it, and went with Borla XR1's on the collectors and 3" pipes back to the axle. No change in HP, as measured on the dyno. A buddy of mine was pushing 1,125HP through the Mufflex 4"/Flowmaster combo. He removed the Mufflex, with just Borla XR1's on the collectors, and saw no HP gain, as measured on a dyno. We both eliminated 50# of excess weight, so it was a "gain" overall. Did not appear the Mufflex system was hurting in any way.

When I've posted this info, I've been told that I don't know what I'm talking about, because Thunder Racing is supposed to have dyno tests that show the mufflers used in the Mufflex/Flowmaster and Mufflex/Spintech will cost you 30-40HP on a bolt-on setup. Hard to believe, but that's what they claim.

If you decided you want to go with the Mufflex system, we have a GP running right now. Email us with your application to sales@fasttoys.net and we will reply with the GP pricing. We only do a mufflex GP once a year so this is a good time to purchase!
