MSD has finally made an optispark
Re: MSD has finally made an optispark
The un-vented Opti has a different configuration on the internal metal cover, the optical wheel is spot-welded to the carrier, where in the vented Opti it is screwed on. The electrical connector is a different size/shape.
Re: MSD has finally made an optispark
My 2-yr old opti had as very strong seal that made it exceptionally difficult to get appart even after I had confirmed it was a total loss so I was being quite rough with it. GM makes them a little better than they used to it appears.

Many members of this site have replaced their Optis more than once. Paying $200 or more each time. At 110k I've never changed mine, and unless the bearing goes I won't. For $600 I've got the best ignition system you can bolt to these cars, and it's money I'll only spend once.
