HELP - Oil Guage Goes to top

Sorry the title is so vague, but here is the problem.

One day I noticed that the Oil pressure guage was completely pegged out the top of the gague and would not go down upon restarting the motor. After 4 months of this annoying me, I finally opened up the dash and set the guague back down to the bottom peg. Very confident in my mechanical aptitude I paused to reflect on my greatness...but my friend suggested that I restart the engine before buttoning the dash back up...I restarted and the guage immediately pegged again. Rinse and repeat 3 times and I gave up.

Please offer me any advice...I hope this is a stupid easy thing to fix and not a burn out wire somewhere impossible to discover.

Thanks in advance.

The sending unit in at the back of the block just behind the intake. The wiring harness plugs into it from the drivers side of the motor so reach back there to see if some how it came unplugged. Thats where Id start.. if that doesnt work then its time for a new one.

Errr, as per Shoebox's picture, it should be self explanitory.
If it's not just below the EGR, then it is above the oil filter on the left side of the block.
