MSD 8.5 mm super conductor spark plug wires.

When i got my set of 8.5 mm MSD wires i noticed that there were 2 extra wires measuring about 10.75 inches and the other was 9.5 inches. Are these needed or are they extra or what. Any help will be appreciated.

when you buy the msds you can get them already made or you will make the wire itself, you measure your own length...

Most probably your coil wire(s); usually they have 2 different angles on the end connector for you to choose from.

These wire were premade for a 1996 Z28 A4 so i dont think they are for a custom setup. So am i supposed to use these wires, and if i am where do they go.

So you have a total of 11 wires?

I think I remember having an extra wire or two with my set. If you have all 8 plug wires and the coil wire on then don't worry about the extra ones. I've never been able to figure out what they're for

from the coil to the opti. look at the front of the driver side head. the coil is bolted to it. replace that wire with the one that looks closest. you will have one extra after you replace the coil wire.

Not sure what the extra one is for, but it is definitely not used. Maybe different years use defferent coil wires. Who knows? Just throw the one not used out.

the different years 92-95 had one style coil wire and the 96-97 had a different one. The companies always throw in both in the LT1 sets of wires.

What he said. The kit contains 8 plug wires and 2 coil wires. Use the one that fits nicely. Also the wires are long, well atleast it was on my. You most likely have to reroute them and won't be able use the factory brackets. Just make sure they stay away from the headers. Good luck.
