I mounted mine on top of the triangular plastic piece right under the air filter. Here's a picture.

You need the blaster coil for it. Don't forget it. The overall box is easy to hookup. Limited room under the hood. Everyone usually puts it next to the Fuse box. THe hardest part of the MSD install is the MSD Blaster coil. You'll have to modify the stock coil brackets a bit to adapt it to fit the MSD coil. THat' the hardest part. Don't know if they fixed that issue or not. I think I had one of the early LT-1 kits or something.

It will work with the stock coil without any problems.....as long as the coil is good.

It can work with the stock coil but your suppossed to use the MSD Blaster coil with it. It's the complete system to get the best performance out the little box. The coils only like 39 bucks or so and a good investment. Having the just box without the coil is like driving a car with no steering wheel. It defeats the purpose of having it in the first place.

More like having a steering wheel w/o a horn. It's nice to have it but not necessary. Stock coil will be fine as long as its in good working condition.
