Motor mount repacment inserts?

Ok i'm sorry if this was answered before, but i couldn't find it on the search.

I get an aweseom cyclic/pulsating vibration from my engine at higher rpms (3k +). I got under it and noticed that the driver side motor mount is half gone, pretty much the top part has disintegrated. I'm looking at replacements and notice that there are mounts for 120 and have the mount and bracket and then there's insert kits for less.

I wondering if the stock brackets take the inserts or do i need a special bracket for using those inserts?

on a side note, for a DD that i hot dog around in occasionally should i stick with rubber or go poly?

Poly gives a slightly rougher ride. I love it! When racing, you feel EVERYTHING! Rubber is stock and keeps it glass smooth, for the most part.

Stock brackets are fine to use, you just have to drill out the rivets. I recommend these inserts, and they come with instructions on how to fit them in the old brackets. But yeah, just use the stock ones. Remember to get ENGINE mounts! http://www.jegs.com/i/Prothane/311/7...0002/-1?CT=999

Thanks, i figured it required some modifications, just didn't know what. i have a rubber tranny mount, would it be fine if i ran that with the polys or should i convert everything over to poly?

I have the same thing--Rubber transmission mount with poly motor mounts. It works great. Good luck!

I noticed no noticable difference in ride quality or vibration when switching to poly motor and trans mounts. I would only go with poly.

Same here. Noticed no difference. Poly for longevity and reliability.

So weird guys...I noticed a significant difference in vibration coming back into the car. Love it, for sure, but I would definitely say it's different than rubber (that's what she said)... haha, sorry....

Nah, over the years I've heard both opinions. I even noticed a difference going to urethane sway bar bushings. Not bad just different. Then again when going to a PU torque arm bush. I run rod ends on the control arms so I can't comment there..
