Moroso Cold Air intake getting melted.

Moroso Cold Air intake getting melted.

I took my moroso cold air intake off that came with my car to check the condition of my air filter. My filter was good but I realized that the main plastic tube has a spot that was almost melther through. It had been touching something that has to do with the brakes (Close to where you put in braking fluid). I tried to put it together in a fashion that it wouldnt touch but it didnt work.

Is there anything I can do to seperate the hot piece from the cai before it melts through completely? It is only one spot less than a dime big but I am sure that it would be bad if it melter through. Has anyone had this problem besides me?

I have the Moroso CAI, and I have not had any melting issues with it. I am sure that you can insulate that section to keep it from melting any further.

I would be willing to bet that someone plastic welded shut the AIR bung.

Any pics?

I have the exact same thing on mine and i have no idea why its there... its like a small hole the size of what seems to be coming from one of the brake lines or something near the drivers side. i dunno if you have pics maybe we both can figure it out... i may try and get pics but my cars going for paint monday and i dont wanna really take off the cai again lol

You might want to clarify that.... the brake fluid gets added to the brake master cylinder, up by the fire wall.... nowhere near the CAI.
