more power
more power
Hello every one, got hooked up against a new mustang last week, great race and in the end i took him by a half a fender, he ended up with a smoking engine and i ended up with a knock in my 95 z .Im looking to rebuild and add approx 100 more horses with out nos..any ideas?Planning to upgrade to 2.02 1.60 valves , better springs and maybe more compression, input on cams ?will need some programming also..thanks for the help.
Re: more power
Have your stock heads ported, with a matching cam. Add required valve train upgrades, good set of headers, larger injectors, larger throttle body, a good computer tune and you are well past +100HP. Two sources for the heads/cam:

Exactly this.
Stock with a SLP Cold air intake my car put down 245 RWHP. Then using the list that injuneer just gave you I put down the numbers in my sig. so +95 HP. And that was with a small port job on stock heads and budget cam kit with off the shelf cam. You can do much better with Heads from Lloyd or AI and a custom cam.
However as boostedz28 pointed out, the new power will be useless if you can't put it to the ground so also plan for some suspension mods and better tires if you haven't already.
