I have already tried to unlock it using the code written in the owner's manual but apparently someone changed it. It is my sis in law's car and the used lot she bought it from had to have it unlocked for her when she bought it. Saturday it lost power due to a loose terminal and now she has no radio. She doesn't have a lot of spending money so we did not want to take it to the dealer. I called the place it was unlocked at they said they don't keep records of that but that they would be happy to fix it for her for a price-->duh.

Anyway, does anybody know a code that will give me a backdoor the theft system? I am a totally trustworthy person and have no intentions other than getting my sis in law's radio working. If anyone can help, please email me at slimdawson@hotmail.com

A GM dealer well i should say Pontiac dealer should do it for free. they did my friends for free. Make sure you ask if there is a charge becuase GM dealers have been known to steal eyes from a dead man.

 

Shoebox has the procedure I think. But I can e-mail it to you when I get home tonight If someone doesn’t come up with it before then.

I think it is on a FAQ list somewhere also.

 

Theftloc Bypass *****
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed
2. Write the numbers down.
3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers
4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the “button” and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.

 

Thanks. It worked. I had to leave the ignition on though for an hour because some guy at her job played with it too long and it wouldn't respond. Then the battery died again. But it is working.
