I think driveability is not related to duration, is related to overlap, isn't it?
Imagine a cam 224/230 106lsa has the same overlap with 240/246 114lsa

well your partially right, but the longer duration cam will have terrible throttle response and very soggy bottom end, where the short duration cam will have TONS of bottom end but with poor idle and maybe not so good throttle response. but I bet the cam as you spec'd, would still have great throttle response if tuned good.

I'm not sure about throttle response but I'm sure the idle will not be poor with a smaller cam.

its not that its a smaller cam, its the 106 icl that would give you that lumpy "big cam" idle. some people translate that into poor driveability. to me, throttle response when opening AND closing the throttle are the important things that make a cam feel "streetable" or not. or the really long duration cam on stock cubic inch's that make poor torque down low.

but to me, Id much rather have a upper 240's in my stroker. just didnt have the cash to get a diff. valvetrain to do it with when I was building my engine. but were talking about his high HP/great driveability car here. not mine.
