I have been out of the U.S. for almost 2 years- so havent been on the forum. I am coming back now and am ready to drop some cash on the Z.

I remember there used to be a list of mods along with gains in 1/4 mile time and/or horsepower. Ive done a few searches and can't find it, is it still around?

Right now Im thinking about spending about 5k, 1-2 on stiffening up the chassis and upgrading suspension and brakes, and the rest on the motor. Im sure I will have more questions later, but wanted to check out the 'list' first to get me in the right direction.

Other than that, keep looking around especially on the "bolt on only" threads for a good idea of what does what.

 

Thanks for that, it's a good start. What I am talking about was this database though, and I know I am not on crack! It had tons of people's LT1's on there, mods, and quarter mile times. And if I am not mistaken it had a breakdown by mod, but I may have dreamt that.

Anyway Ill be following the board again, but was looking for a head start. Thanks for the help.

Biggest gains as far as bolt ons go:

Hooker 1 3/4" Long Tubes

True Duals or 4" mufflex.

Callaway or Moroso CAI

Spohn LCAs and relocation brackets from www.sybersport.com.

Airbag in rear passenger spring.

Double Diamond subframe connectors www.sybersport.com.

If you want to dig into the motor you can go heads and cam and gears with a PCM reprogram.
