My 94 Z w/130k miles is missing under extreme passing gear acceleration. It makes a popping sound. Not too long ago is was also surging at a stop light which was odd. I havent changed the plugs for 60k nor the wires but I want to fix it not just nickel and dime myself to death. I read about the Opti but have no idea what that is. Please help this newby from LA.

 

The opti is your distributer, mine is going out, and when i am in high rpms it starts cuting out. BUt i alsi have my number 8 wire arching off the dipdtick tube.

Could be your opti, but I'd definitely replace wires and plugs first. There's a good chance the wires are just burned/melted.
