is missing opti bolt my problem
ok so my car (97 z28 LT1) has new timing chain(marks and ring double checked), optispark, fuel pump, fuel filter, cps, coil, icm, tps, plugs, wires, k&n cold air intake, flowmaster super 44 single 3in back to dual 2 1/2in with deleted cats.
I just installed new optispark and car has been throwing cps and missfire codes out the A$$ and i tried replacing cps because it had a warantee but to no avail. wires and conection to cps are good. and then i noticed the other day that the driver side optispark mounting bolt was either gone or had broken off, and seeing as this is the side with only that one bolt in the center as it is, i was wondering if sense its an optical sensor and the signal from that has to match near to perfect to the cps signal in order for the car to run properly if this missing bolt could be allowing for enough vibration to mess with the optical sensor and cause codes and missfire.

I would say you could not rule it out until the bolt was replaced. Finding out why you have the bolt situation in the first place might be in order. Perhaps there is some vibration problem that caused it. If that is so, that may be your cause of misfire issues.
