Missing... No Power,Coil,Opti

Well my car was idleing like it had a Cam, checked a couple things I had a couple loose plugs fixed that, and I think I had also a small Vacuum leak at my Maf fixed that I think, started it up ran fine for a couple miles then it came back, It felt like it was missing thru the whole rpm range, rpm seems steady no bouncing or anything, I had a similar problem a month ago and it was my Coil
do u think it went out again?.. I looked at it tonight see if it was arching or anything the coil wire had a small arch in the wire, also my plugs are Arching inside the head is this normal? I have no ses codes, Would my coil cause this again and go out this soon?,after the car warms up it bucks surges and everything , did the same thing when the coil went out, I'm thinking the Opti might have crapped out. I sprayed starter fluid all over all the possible Vacuum leaks, all stayed the same, would a Coil if its losing power or something cus it to go out after a period of driving?.... I would just like to find out my problems before I shell out 300 bucks for an OPti ..... thanks

No arching should be visible. It sounds like from your description, the insulation either on the plug or the wires is breaking down. You should change out the plugs and wires first. No matter what happens to the coil, it won't cause the wires or plugs to visibly arch. Now the plugs on the other hand can prematurely wear out a coil. As the plugs wear and the gap gets larger, the voltage required to jump a larger gap is greater.

Do not use electrical items such as plug wires from a cheap auto parts store. Either go OEM or Hi-pro.

Arching

So your saying there should be no arch at all under my hood?,The plug wires are about a month old, the plugs are about a year old,the arching can only be seen on the plugs where they meet the head and there not all like that so I guess that's baddo you think they could just be loose would that affect it after a period of driving?

Yes there should be no arcing visible anywhere. Remember current will take the path of least resistance. If you see a spark near the plug to the heads, then when that happens, the plug did not fire.
