Missfire at high rpm

Wot the car will start to break up and I hope it is not the opti. So I wanted to find out what should do first. Should I change the plugs or wires or will these cause this. And if so what kind to use thanks

They are no fun to change the plugs and wires in and i have not found a way to do it any easier than just a socket and a wrench. i had a similar problem a few months back and went through about a month and a half of pulling things apart i put a new opti cap and rotor on changed plugs and wires a new coil and a ICM, and the problem ended up being O2 sensors and all that was wrong was when the car hit about 4-5 thousand RPMs it would dog down horribly... just a thought to look into

Likely a coil wire. If it is a single wire then it would likely be more consistant at all RPMs than just at WOT High RPMs. But, it wouldn't hurt to change them out.

I've got headers on my car that are a major pain. You can purchase a spark plug socket which has been bored for the LT1 which makes the job... sigh... somewhat easier. I went one step further and got those ratcheting box-end type wrenches that fit on the spark plug socket... helps a bit more.

It may take a few hours. Depends if you have headers and what type of headers.

I would say its opti.. It was no fun doing it, and I hope you have a second car to drive cause if was you I would like to take my time. Optis range from $200 - $500. But I would recomend with GM Performance that is about $300
Here is a link to do it your self info... Good luck
