missed a 2-3 shift now something is wrong with 3rd gear. Help!

Hey guys I have a question. Last night I missed a 2-3 shift with my wonderful stock shifter. Now I am having some trouble with 3rd gear. Normal driving and easy shifting sometimes it will pop out of gear if I dont put it in a little harder than usual. However once in gear it wont pop out no matter how much throttle. Its only when shifting into 3rd gear that I have troubles if I dont push it all the way in. Like I said if I dont it will pop out with a little grind also. A friend mentioned something about pads or shift fork? any more help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks much

same thing happens in my car, and ive been researching the problem as well.

From what i here it is the shift fork, which requires pulling the tranny to fix.

Everyone I have talked to says tranny fork. Atleast the part is cheap $49.99 for steel upgraded fork from D&D. Labor might not be so cheap but I will be looking into it tomorrow. Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks

Most likey not the shift fork, thats everyones first thing they say when this happens, and when I had the problem I ordered the fork before I even took the tranny apart, assuming thats what it was, but it wasnt. There is something inside the syncrho that keeps the gears from moving when you are in other gears, and the same mechanism keeps the gears in gear when you are in a certain gear. There are three clips and a ring that expands them, those clips, "dogs", are most likely broken. Cost me $23 to fix the problem, but I threw in the steel shift fork for added strength, I did it myself, so total cost was $73. If you take it to a shop you will pay parts and probly $200 labor, if you live close to toledo Ohio and you take the tranny out I can do it for you.
