Moisture/condensation is likely affecting the wires, coil, IC module or the OptiSpark. In the dark, open the hood, start it up, and spray a light mist of water on these parts looking for arcing. Easy does it with "mist" on the Opti

thanks Fred. ive gotta diagnose it this weekend. its totally dry under that hood. maybe its just a bad plugwire or something. that could be why it was running 2mph slower in the 1/8 mile last week then it did the week before. i had just chalked it up to the track hooking better.

Re: miss under load after car gets rained on

i have the same problem with my 93TA. i just put a new optispark in 2 months ago also. It rained for over a week straight here in ca and i did not drive my car for a day and then i tried to go somewhere the next. The thing stumbled under load then it just died down the street. It did not run well until we had a clear day again. Moisture builds up in our optisparks because they are not vented. I'm thinking i will definately do the conversion this year for peace of mind.

The problem is that with high humidity days, after the car sits overnight, the engine components stay cool enough to allow the moisture in the air to condense out on them.
