Misfire

I have recently put in new intake gaskets and rtv. Oil leak is gone now thankfully. The problem now is that my car is misfiring like crazy. I can barely get on the throttle before it starts to miss. What gives?

It misses horribly whenever I'm trying to drive. It misses worse as the motor warms up but it still is very noticeable when it's cool. I don't know if it makes any difference but the tips of my exhaust are black as anything.

As far as i can tell it only misses when i'm driving. I can press down the clutch peddle and rev it up with no problems. I don't really know if it is due to fuel as I don't really have much knowledge about fuel,spark..etc

All of the plug wires were fine before I changed the intake. I suppose I could check them just to make sure though. What about the opti? Could it maybe be that?

Are you sure you got the manifold gaskets aligned correctly? Did you torque the manifold bolts to spec?

Are your injectors working and connected correctly? I put the plug wires on the wrong ones and it ran like crap. I also had a loose wire and that made it run bad also. Double check everything you did before going to other parts of the car.

I did torque them to specs but then again I had a lot of trouble with one of them. The one on the front passenger side I know is not tightened all the way down because i just couldn't get it in. It got tight way to early. Even when i laid the intake down on a trial run i could not get the bolt to go all the way down no matter what i did. I know this probably has messed up the threads but i was in a hurry..which is not good..because i had to get home from Nashville. The intake is sitting flush with everything though.. I'm guessing this is most likely my problem?

yeah they are connected correctly. I made sure of that. As soon as i can i will go check more of the wires etc...but im guessing Injuneer was correct when he said that about the intake.

If your exhaust tips are really sooty, it could mean you are running too rich which could also be caused by intake problem. I.e. not enough air for proper mixture. food for thought.

ok thanks. So should I redo the intake again and try to figure out a way to get the bolt in all the way because this might be causing my problem?
