mis on #8, can't figure out why?

Ok the other day the LT1 (info in sig on 84' silverado) started to mis, so today I started trying to dignose it. I know its on the passenger side bank cause I can hear a tick in the exhaust on that side, checked all the plugs and the #8 plug was black, so I changed the plugs and wires and it still has the tick along with the mis.

Also adjusted the valves, no change!!!

Was thinking either injector plug or o2 sensor, but if it was o2, wouldn't that foul the whole bank? And if its the injector plug, how would I diagnose it?

Well found several other black plugs on back 4 cylinders, 5-8 so it may just be the plug wires, changed all the plugs but no difference. And still have tick at the exhaust. Will do wires tomorrow along with oil change to see if that makes a difference.

Could be a leaking injector on #8. Swap #8 with another injector and see if the problem follows the injector. While you have the rails pulled, pressure the fuel system and look for dripping injectors.

If you had a faulty injector plug, or a wiring problem, you would have a code for an injector circuit problem. Have you scanned it for codes?

And fix the leak in the exhaust. A leak before the O2 sensors will cause that side of the engine to run rich.

Thanks for the reply Fred, swapped 8 with 7, no change, no leaks from any injectors, and no codes.

Working on the collector leak, its a pita!! I drove it home last night and now it feels like it has several misses, so i'm thinking o2 sensors? So on the way into work this morn i'm gonna grab a set of plugs, oil for a change and a pair of o2 sensors and see if it does anything. Could this be my opti acting up again, the last time I changed it, which was around august last year, it would just quit running not start missing but I know they can do strange things. Reason I ask is cause the last thing I did before it started acting up was change my thermostat.

Mis may not be coming from just 8 as I first thought!!

Have you checked for corrosion in the plug and coil wire terminals in the Opti, and on the Opti harness connector?

A few years ago, after having my plugs and wires replaced at a local speed shop my car developed a slight miss.I took the car back they checked it over and said it was probably the opti.I thought this was too much of a coincidence so I found a shop nearby that specializes in corvettes. They said the opti was fine and that #8 injector was no good.So I replaced the injectors.Still the car had the miss which finally got so bad it would hardly
run.Went to one more shop that went over the whole car and traced it to a
bad opti.Go figure. At least now everything on my car is new.But one thing
with fuel injected engines is when you have a bad cylinder (plug or injector)
it send a screwed up signal from the 02 senser to the computer because
it thinks your running rich from the unburned gas and tries to make corrections or if one injector is not working right it may richen up the entire
bank so the plugs on the good cylinders could still look bad.
