minimum valvetrain modification
minimum valvetrain modification for cc503
I may have found a good deal locally on a vented opti-spark. my vehicle however takes the non vented. so i was looking into the conversion... and looking at cams. i decided i would go w/ the comp503 if i was to go through w/ this. i was j/ wondering whats the minimum of valvetrain modification i would hafta do... can i get away w/ just springs? and i've heard of people using stock springs off different motors when they upgrade there cams has anybody done this? and what springs would i need for a cc503?
i've read that you can keep the stock rocker arms.
what about push rods?
down the road i could always change those.
please don't flame

you can do just springs if you are on a budget. i have a set of brand new comp 918 beehives with locks and retainers that i will sell you for 225 shipped. the stock pushrods and lifters should work fine. i ran stock lifters and pushrods with a 306 cam for 2k no problems.
You might consider getting some 1.6 rockers---just like your stock rockers only just get 8 of them with the higher ratio for the exhaust side only. Most restriction is on exhuust side and 8 stamped 1.6s should be pretty cheap. JMHO
