mini Starter needed to get around LT headers

What have you Guys used? I'm looking for a high torque gear reduction mini-starter that will clear my newly installed Quad-1 long tubes. I'm leaning towards this CSR unit.

Thanks

Perhaps you saw it in your other post, but I'll post it here too in case others need some reference. For my build to clear my LPPs, I used a ProTorque (now Jegs brand) mini gear-reduction starter, part number 555-10001. It's adjustable, required no shimming, and has no problem cranking over my 12.5:1 compression 383. Cost me about $140 - very nice!

RamAir95TA,

Thanks for your replies. This Jeg's starter was 2nd on my list, but you may have moved it up to the top. I was not aware that it was adjustable. That is a huge benefit. Also no shimming was needed. Very nice. Did you have use non-stock mounting bolts?

Thanks again

Longer bolts are included with the new starter to accompany the burly aluminum mounting flange.

I didn't need to shim mine, and I am using a B&M SFI 153 tooth flywheel.

Is it common to need a ministarter for LTs or is this a B-Body specific problem?

I only swapped mine out because I wanted a higher torque starter for my stroker. That, and my stock one was cracked.

I don't have a problem, using a stock starter with 1 3/4" longtubes.
