Re: Miles to a tank

some how my tank hold 18 gallons of gas. Ive went to 4 diff gas stations and they all read the same. Well recently i just got my engine built and i barely got 185 out of the tank. BUt after 3700 miles and a tune im at 230 miles to a tank now and still going strong.

I did drive a good 60-70 miles down a hwy to a place adn back. BUt i do have a 3200 stall ad full bolt ons with a big cam. And i have no idea how im getting more than 220 miles to tank,.

Anyone ever heard of a camaro taking 18 gallons?

it was actually 18.7

Re: Miles to a tank

This has come up several times over the years on different sites. And it seem that the average Z28 LT1 gets about 220 per tank full. And it could be me, but it seems that the 97's have more problems then average with low mileage. Could be because of the "four" O2 sensers.

Re: Miles to a tank

I get about 200 - 230 miles a tank depending on how I drive it.

I put 12.7 gallons in usually so I'm getting roughly 18 mpg.

32 MPG HWY is @ 70 MPH. Any faster & MPG goes down.

exactly, if you guys want meaningful numbers, start filling it up, hit the trip meter, do a little math, etc.

I check mine every 6 months or so, or everytime I road trip, I will check the first tank or 2.

Freeway, cruise set at 83-84, AC on, I get 28-29mpg running across NV.

Freeway, cruise set at 83, AC on, I get 25-27mpg running I5 in CA and OR. don't know why the difference, more traffic causing me to kill the cruise occasionally? better air so using more fuel pulling hills? don't know.

to and from work, mix of freeway and town, "spirited" driving some days, granny driving others, I seem to hang around 18mpg

Re: Miles to a tank

usualy a mix of highway and city driving I can get about 250-260 miles per tank. Filling up about 13 gallons each time, somtimes a little more. But I also got a missfire so I know I could probly get a little more out of it.

250-260 per 14 gallons with my A4. Roughly 21 mpg with city and highway mix.
