Miles to a tank

Hey guys I recently did a full tune up, new wires, 02s, plugs, fuel filter, header gasket, msd coil, madz28 tune.

Now before all that I could get around 140 miles when I'm right on empty. After all that I'm at 350 miles and on the 1/4 tank mark I think I will get around 370 if I take it right to empty with granny driving. FWIW the first 60miles of this tank was at 115mph on the hwy and the last 50miles have been city driving. The rest was hwy at 75-80mph or so with a few WOT runs inbetween.

Whats your most amount of miles to a tank you have put on in one of these cars?

BTW my speedo is in MPH not KPH incase anyone is confused

*EDIT*
Forgot to say that the car has 95,xxxmiles on it now

Re: Miles to a tank

It's miles per gallon that have real meaning. Miles to the tank is subject to too many interpretations and how low it really is when you fill up.

I was getting 270-300 before the mod bug hit.I was doing 75% hwy driving when I was getting those numbers. And driving no more than 70 mph on the hwy.I was averaging 13.5 gallons a fill up.

I get about 10mpg with my stock 97 Z-28, its all city driving one mile to work and one mile back home. A tank will last me about a month.

Re: Miles to a tank

wtf everytime i see this i want to call BS lol. My v6 impala 02 gets way less then that...i get a total of about 270 miles and thats with about 14 or so gallons. I don't even want to think how bad the camaro is lol. Even my v6 bad tranny 96 sable got 12 miles per gallon in the city and like a average of like 160 miles to a tank haha. Thats pretty sad i guess... and most of my cars are generally well maintained. It would be like hitting the lottery if i got that great of gas mileage hehe

The only non stock part on the car was a Moroso CAI.No burn outs , no blast to triple digits getting on the hwy . Basically driving it like granny. And being a 6spd helps a lot also.

After the frist round hot cam kit , headers , cat back I was averaging 220-230 but was much harder on the car.

I have yet too drive with what is listed in my sig.The rest of the list is all the parts Lloyd suggested.

Re: Miles to a tank

With all the mods in my sig and driving with the AC on, pop-up headlights up for half the trip, and gunning it a few times, I got 350 miles out of 13.3 gallons ~ 26.3 mpg. I think it's safe to say if I were to baby it the whole time I could probably get 28 mpg which I am really happy with considering what I have done.

Re: Miles to a tank

I get 18-19 combined (~60% highway). I've gotten 27.5 on a roadtrip before. I drive with a lead foot and cruise at about 80 on the highway...I get roughly 260-280 before I fill up about 13.5 gal. I hit about a tank a week.
